ADSB: The Future of Offshore Oil Aviation

The Gulf of Mexico boasts 3,798 oil platforms that pump 1½ million barrels of oil and 7 billion cubic feet of natural gas each day. But their isolation in the Gulf makes them serviceable only to helicopters. Every day, helicopters transport 10,000 workers along with medical supplies, machinery, food, and water to these platforms allowing them to run 24 hours a day. This video explains how the implementation of ADSB will reduce runway incursions, give air traffic controllers a better picture of aircraft in the skies, and keep pilots safer as they fly.
