General Aviation Groups Applaud Arkansas Governor's Support for Aviation

Mar. 18 – Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe today unveiled a proclamation declaring March 2010 to be “Aviation and Aerospace Appreciation Month” in Arkansas, a move hailed by the Alliance for Aviation Across America (AAAA), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Air Care Alliance (ACA), and the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO).  Beebe announced the proclamation as part of the Governor’s Aerospace Summit, being held at the Convention Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. ND Lt. Governor Dalrymple Proclaims “North Dakota Aviation Week”; Board Member Henry Ogrodzinski Attends

Mar. 8 - Aviation enthusiasts from across the Midwest gathered at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium in Fargo from March 7-9.. On behalf of the AllianceBoard Member and National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) President Henry Ogrodzinski attended to witness ND Lieutenant Governor Jack Dalrymple proclaim this week “North Dakota Aviation Week”. To educate event-goers on the work we do here at the Alliance, Ogrodzinski followed up with a presentation, emphasizing general aviation’s importance to the state. Among his key messages were GA’s $248.28 million annual contribution to North Dakota’s economy and over 2,500 sustained jobs.  To learn more, view our full press release here

Alliance Applauds Vermont Governor Douglas’ Support for General Aviation

Feb. 18 -- During a Vermont Aerospace & Aviation Association (VAAA) Open House, Vermont Governor Jim Douglas  signed a  proclamation  declaring February as “General Aviation Appreciation Month”, highlighting the significance the industry has on Vermont’s statewide economy.  The VAAA is a division of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce which manages this association in partnership with Lt. Governor and VAAA Chair Brian Dubie, who also serves as National Chair of the Aerospace States Association. The event was attended by general aviation (GA) leaders from around the country including Alliance for Aviation Across America (AAAA) Executive Director Selena Shilad.  For the full press release,  click here .

U.S. Senate General Aviation Caucus Hosts First Meeting

Jan. 28 - The Alliance for Aviation praised Senator Mark Begich (D-AK) and Mike Johanns (R-NE) for their work in forming the Congressional General Aviation Caucus in the United States Senate as they held their first official meeting today. The Caucus, already comprised of 23 Senators, was organized to recognize and support the important role General Aviation (GA) plays in our local economies and our national transportation system. Formed in 2007, the Alliance for Aviation Across America is a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of over 4,400 members including individuals, businesses, agricultural groups, FBO’s, small airports, elected officials, charitable organizations, and leading business and aviation groups that support the interest of the general aviation community across various public policy issues.

Our goal is to protect this economic lifeline to rural and small communities, which a crucial resource for business, medical care, disaster relief and a key transportation asset to residents in isolated areas.
